All my sister’s hard work and effort (and weeks and weeks of planning) paid off on Friday 10th August with the very successful Shake it Out: Florence and the Machine Charity Masquerade Ball.
With a line up of stars including Tom and Alex from Triple J, the very talented musical comedian, Geraldine Quinn (who sang a number of Florence songs), Raymond the Magician and D.J. Simon, and a sea of bright red wigs, everyone had a wonderful time dancing the night away. It was a fantastic event and Megan was able to raise over $2,500 for a very worthy charity, The Song Room.
I wasn’t able to bid on anything in the silent auction (had my eye on the bright red Russell Hobbs toaster but there’s no way it would have fit in my hand luggage!) but I did come away with two Florence and the Machine CDs – Ceremonials and Lungs – brilliant!
