Welcome to Friday Fictioneers, a challenge to write a 100 word story relating to a picture prompt by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.
Here’s this week’s picture:
Trapped
Darkness surrounded Allie as she huddled in the corner, the cold seeping into her pores. Her head pounded and her body ached. She had no idea where she was and no recollection of what had happened to her.
Allie looked at her watch and shuddered.
Wednesday?
The last thing she remembered was walking home from the cafe on Sunday.
Slowly, she slid along the wall, feeling for an exit.
A flicker of light summoned a flicker of hope.
Allie shoulder barged the door with all her might until she smashed through, into the sunshine and onto the concrete footpath below.

Happy reading and have a great Easter long weekend.
Rachel 🙂
Excellent! I hope she was able to escape with all her bones still intact. That is quite a fall!

I guess it depends how she landed!

Nice take on the prompt photo. I was wondering what someone would do with it. You did very well.

Thanks Lucky. I’ve read a heap of the other stories now and there are so many different ideas. Some people are so creative.

Oh crumbs. So close to escape too.
Maybe she rolled, was completely unharmed and ran off to safety. Maybe? 🙂

Tough! Let’s hope she survives this end to her awful experience.

Creepy premise. Jame Gumb: It puts the lotion on its skin, or it gets the fall again.

I just googled Jame Gumb as I had no idea what you meant! Got it now!

A few more bruises, but hopefully otherwise intact!

A terrifying experience for her altogether! After managing to find a way out of her ‘prison’ comes that awful fall … Whether or not she survived is open to interpretation, I think. It’s also interesting to speculate as to what her capture/confinement was all about in the first place. Well written, Rachel. 🙂

I know, it’s awful to think she may have just escaped in time, only to fall to her death or be seriously injured and possibly captured again. Let’s hope she landed on her feet and was able to run away!

Ouch, poor Allie. I hope she’s okay. I hope she’ll find out how she ended up there, and how she lost three days. But it doesn’t look good…
I love the writing: it’s tight, full of detail that takes me into the dark room with her, the flicker line is great , and so is the ending – she smashes through the door and her hopes are (probably) smashed.

That is one tragic tale, excellently told.

I like the way the story unfolded. I was hoping she was able to run as fast as she could once she hit the concrete but that would be fiction or one of those cartton where the character pops up and continues running. 😳 After all, that is some fall.
I like your story very much. Nice interpretation for the photo prompt. 😎

Thanks Isadora. Yes, it would’ve been good if she could have run away but the odds are against her I’m afraid.

Really liked the story. I prefer denial and think she made it ok. Just some bruises. 🙂
