This cake recipe only has four ingredients and it is dairy free, gluten free and nut free. So easy to make and it tastes delicious too. Eat it by itself or if you’re like me, add ice-cream, yoghurt or cream!
Ingredients:
* 1 and a half tins of chickpeas (drained)
* 1 cup of dark chocolate (squares or choc-chips)
* 4 eggs
* 3/4 cup of brown sugar
Method:
1) In the food processor mix chickpeas and eggs.
2) Melt chocolate.
3) Mix in melted chocolate and sugar.
4) Pour into a lined slice tray.
5) Cook on medium heat (think I did 180 degrees) for 20-30 minutes.
6) Leave to cool, then eat!
What’s the weight of a “tin” of chickpeas?
What is a “slice tray”?
180 degrees C is 356 F (give or take – we’d probably do 350 F in the US).
Sounds delicious.

Hi Holly, They were 400g tins of chickpeas and a slice tray is a bit shallower than a cake tin. I use the slice tray to make chocolate slice etc. Mine is 30cm by 21cm and 3cm deep. Hope that helps!

Thanks, yes, it does! Never heard of a slice tray. I have pie tins, cake pans, cookie sheets, loaf pans… no idea what chocolate slice is, either, but it has the word chocolate in it so I’m on board!

Chocolate slice is really yummy. It’s more like a biscuit than a cake but you bake it in the tray, ice it with chocolate icing and coconut and then cut it up into squares.

So…what we’d call a “brownie”?

Yeah, I reckon that would be the closest thing to it, although I have different recipes for chocolate slice and chocolate brownies. I think there’s more flour in a brownie?? Hmm… I will have to look at my recipe books!

Yummy a nice choccie fix. Sorry for some reason I haven’t been receiving your posts. I think I turned off something during the WPRESS course! Time to catch up!

Must give these a try, sounds like a healthier option than my usual biscuits.
